About the project.
National figures state that 1:5 children starting reception year are overweight which rises to 1:3 by the end of primary school. Braintree District Council and Essex County Council are working in partnership to develop a new initiative entitled ‘Livewell Child’ to support families live healthier lives and become more active.

What do I need to do as a Livewell school?
There are a number of ways you can support the programme by aiming towards children getting at least 30 minutes of exercise per day during school hours, ensuring a healthy snack policy, facilitating parent workshops and focus groups with us to discuss ways to reduce childhood obesity and aim for every child to play outside at some point during the school day.
Launching the daily Mile!
The Fire Service came into help us launch the Daily Mile. We are aiming to walk a mile each day. It was an exciting day!
