Parent Feedback
To Mrs Fenty and the Early Years Team.
Yesterday Mrs Fenty asked for some feedback to the story time sessions.
I passed it over to my husband to fill out for us because the day would not be long enough for, what I would need to write. (Apologies I'm a hair dresser we don't know when to stop talking!)
I enjoy coming to story time for a number of reasons, I like to know the core story of the week.
I don't think you can ever spend too much time with your children.
I love getting to see my daughters school life and being part of it.
I like to see and get familiar with the adult's that are taking care of my child.
The Cinderella story for this week just so happened to tie in perfectly with our family because I'm a step mum to La-Reina's three older sister's ( Tho not a wicked one but you'd have to ask them.) when my girls hit the teenage year's they stopped reading for pleasure!! After coming home from story time they talked about the Cinderella story, they took pictures with filters on that turned them into Cinderella. Then we discussed the use of books about improving language. How they can help with work interviews. How you can learn without knowing you're really learning and by the end of our night they had downloaded reading apps, took books from my bookshelf for their boyfriends and chose the books they wanted to start reading!!!!! A 20-minute story time has motivated something in them that I haven't been able to do in a few years! THANK YOU!
At Storytime I try to help with the children that are comfortable with me. whose parents can't make it. I'm available to be present for them if they wish.
There's a few that are getting excited to show me their writing skills and even asking me "if I'm proud of them!!!!" Witch of course I so am!
My appreciation for all the early years team goes far beyond Storytime, you make so much available to us parents to continue learning at home, provide invites and opportunities for us to take part in, with plenty of notice should we choose. Then you send out your praises to us for doing what we should be doing, being parents!
I'm a firm believer that first impressions last the longest and the first impression of the educational system that you are giving the children is second to none.
In the 19 years of experiences, I have had with four daughters attending nursery, primary, secondary and now collage I could not ask for more.
Thank you
- Charley
'It has been such a joy to see the children fully engaged, captivated by the stories and participating in such a fun and interactive way. Not only have the children benefited from these sessions, but as parents, we have also truly enjoyed watching them learn, imagine and grow through story telling. Your dedication to making these sessions both educational and entertaining does not go unnoticed and we are so grateful for all that you do. Thank you once again for creating such a wonderful and enriching experience for our little ones and for us as parents. We look forward to many more sessions coming up'
