A warm hello, from Mount Olympus Class!

My name is Mrs Fenty and I am the Class Teacher for Mount Olympus class. I am also the EYFS Lead, here at Silverend Academy.

I am looking forward to sharing information about our wonderful provision at Silverend Academy and do hope that you have heard some things already, about what we are doing well at our thriving school.

A little background about my early childhood experiences, particularly in EYFS. I came to the UK from Mauritius at the age of 4, so English was my additional language. 

Early Years provided me with a safe, nurturing and fun environment to develop and grow as an individual. These are the same values that I hold for the children in my care in EYFS. 

Learning to speak, communicate, read and write in English has given me some fantastic opportunities in life. 

My passion, therefore, stems from my own early experiences, of the impact and opportunities that come through access to good language and vocabulary. 

I love to read, particularly children's books, by, my favourite author Julia Donaldson. Some of my favourite stories are 'The Singing Mermaid', 'The Ugly 5' and 'The Princess and the Wizard'

I love to promote reading for pleasure in class and to allow opportunities for parents to come in to explore weekly Story Time sessions and to also become a Mystery Reader. 

I am looking forward to working in partnership with you to develop our children's experiences in all areas.
