    Music

Enabling our pupils to develop a love of music, grow their talents as musicians, and increase self-confidence, creativity, and a sense of achievement.

At Silver End Academy, our Music curriculum aims to inspire creativity and develop pupils’ skills in listening, composing, and performing. Following the Lion Pathways scheme, we provide a broad and balanced musical education that nurtures a lifelong appreciation and understanding of music from diverse styles, cultures, and historical periods.

    Our curriculum:

    • Develops pupils’ understanding of musical elements including pitch, rhythm, dynamics, tempo, timbre, texture, and structure.

    • Encourages active listening and critical appraisal, helping pupils identify instruments, styles, and key musical features.

    • Provides opportunities to compose and improvise, fostering creativity and personal expression.

    • Builds confidence and skill in performing music individually and collaboratively, using voice, instruments, and technology.

    • Introduces pupils to music from different cultures and traditions, promoting cultural awareness and respect.

    • Sequences learning to ensure progressive development of musical skills and understanding across key stages.

    • Integrates cross-curricular links and enrichment activities such as concerts, workshops, and educational visits.

At Silver End Academy, we are committed to delivering a high-quality Music education that nurtures creativity, personal development, and a lifelong enjoyment of music.
