    Computing

Empowering our pupils to think computationally, act creatively, and use technology to shape the world around them.

At Silver End Academy, our Computing curriculum is designed to equip pupils with the knowledge, skills, and understanding they need to succeed in an increasingly digital society. We aim to develop computational thinking, creativity, and digital literacy so that every child becomes a confident, responsible, and innovative user of technology.

    Our curriculum:

    • Builds pupils’ understanding of core computing concepts, including algorithms, programming, data, and computer systems.

    • Promotes logical reasoning and problem-solving through engaging coding and computational challenges.

    • Teaches pupils to use technology safely, responsibly, and respectfully, with a strong emphasis on online safety and digital citizenship.

    • Provides opportunities to explore a wide range of software and hardware to create, communicate, and collaborate effectively.

    • Progressively develops from foundational digital skills in the early years to more advanced applications by the end of Key Stage 2.

    • Encourages awareness of the social, cultural, and economic influences of computing and technology in the modern world.

    • Fully aligns with the National Curriculum, ensuring all pupils experience a broad, rich, and ambitious Computing education.

At Silver End Academy, we are committed to delivering high-quality Computing education that inspires curiosity, nurtures creativity, and builds confidence in every child as a digital learner and creator.
