History is a foundation subject in the National Curriculum. The fundamental knowledge, skills and understanding of the subject are set out in the National Curriculum programmes of study. It is a subject that will be taught throughout the year in conjunction with other curriculum areas. Children will develop their Historical knowledge and understanding, which will be driven by a progression of skills and knowledge based learning.

We currently have a two year rolling programme for History.  This year we are following cycle A.  The main driver projects for each term alternate between a History or Geography focus.  We use Cornerstones Maestro as a planning tool to allow for appropriate coverage of key skills and knowledge.  This also allows a curriculum sequence between year groups.
