Apologies for any problems your child may have come across using Purple Mash this week, this has now been resolved and children should be able to access the site as usual. The children have worked very hard over this last half term and we are sure they are looking forward to their break.
When we come back after half term our Year 3 PE days will be Tuesday and Friday. The children will bring their kit home to be washed on Tuesday and will need it back in school for Friday please.
Over half term please continue to read daily and use TT Rockstars for times tables as we are seeing the benefits of this in class which is great. Spellings from this week will be carried over and tested after half term on the first Monday back.
Have a lovely half term and we will see you on 2nd November!

We hope that the children are continuing to share with you the learning we have been doing in school. We have just finished a 4 week place value maths unit and we are moving onto learning mental and written methods for addition and subtraction. In English, we enjoyed writing diaries as a character from our class story. The children's handwriting is beginning to really improve. Any practise you can do with them at home will help. Some parents have requested help with this so please find a link to the worksheets we have been using in class. It is important that the children follow the same handwriting style so we can teach how to join their letters.
The children are quite well settled into new school routines now but please call and speak to either myself or Mrs Leeson if you have any queries. We are very conscious that we are not able to have those 'quick chats' at the school gate at the moment.
We continue expect the children to be doing the following at home:-
1. Practise the 2,5 and 10 times tables. The children can use TT Rockstars to help but we have also shown the children lots of other ways to practise if computer access is a problem. The link to the website is below and the children had logins sent home last week. I have also added a 2do through Purple Mash to help the children learn their times tables if they have time to try it.
2. Read daily. Due to our need to minimise the amount of things being transferred from school and home we are, as a whole school, not sending out reading records. We are, however sending home reading books, which need to be brought back to school each day. Once a book is finished, the children can quiz the book using Renaissance Reading. Again the link is below and the children have logins. The children may take a few weeks to get used to doing this and we are helping the children navigate this site daily at school.
3. Spellings are being set via Purple Mash - again the children have had their logins sent home. Please login and go from the home screen to English - Spelling Resources- Year 3 - week 1. There will be a weekly quiz set and the weekly spellings can be found there. It has been brought to our attention that not everyone if finding this easy to access so please find this week's spellings listed below. The children will be tested on these on Mondays.

Thank you all for your support. If you have any questions please contact either myself or Mrs Leeson via the school office. Any questions regarding school meals and snacks please contact the school office.
