Connected Learning Multi-Academy Trust
Founded in 2013, Connected Learning is a primary-only MAT based in Mid-Essex. It originated from the collaborative partnerships and school to school improvement support through Powers Hall Junior School (now Powers Hall Academy and CL’s founding member). There are now a further four schools within the Trust including Silver End Academy including: Cherry Tree Primary School and Iceni Academy, both in Colchester, and Templars Academy, in Witham. Each school benefits from the Trust’s strong ethos of support and there are also many opportunities for them to celebrate their own diversity and individuality.
The Trust aims:-
To raise the educational achievement of all its pupils
To provide a safe and nurturing environment
To work with educational establishments outside the MAT to help raise educational achievements across Essex
To disseminate best educational practice.
“To provide outstanding outcomes for all”
The name of the Trust signals its vision:
Connected, collaborative learning across all its schools
We know what outstanding teaching looks like and we also know what outstanding leadership looks like.
All school to school support is based on creating partnerships, developing mutual respect whilst still challenging underperformance at all levels of teaching and learning.
We also believe that, in order to have an outstanding school, all aspects of the school
must be outstanding including the governance, financial structure, catering and premises management
We work in partnership with the New Essex Teaching School Alliance which comprises 10 schools as strategic partners across Essex as well as Christchurch Canterbury University, the Local Authority and Essex and Thames SCITT schemes.
